AVERAGE HOURS: 32-40 hours per week
OVERTIME: overtime is generally not available, but if worked, it would be 1.5 times pay.
FREQUENCY OF PAY: twice monthly
WORK SCHEDULES:work schedules are variable, usually 6 hour shifts, 6 days a week.
TRAINING:on the job training.
SICK/VACATION DAYS: n/a
MEAL CONDITIONS:employees pay for meals, but 50% off (about $8/meal)
LOCATION: Seward, Alaska
SECOND JOBS: employees may seek second jobs, but it shouldn’t impact the hours we schedule.
INTERNET AVAILABILITY:internet is not available at the place of work, but available at housing. Internet is also available at the local library.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is a complimentary shuttle that runs during the summer months and taxis are available. Seward Bus Line offers transportation between Anchorage and Seward daily. Alaska Railroad also offers transportation between Anchorage and Seward during the summer.
TRAVEL TO WORK: On site
DISTANCE FROM SHOPPING CENTER: Everything is within 1 or 2 miles.
HOUSING: Female housing on site in a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment with kitchen or co-ed dorm style housing
HOUSING COSTS: $350/month, including utilities
HOUSING DEPOSIT: $50 deposit for linens, refundable at the end of the season if returned in good condition
ARRIVAL INFO: Employees will fly into Anchorage. We may be able to pick employees up and would charge $30 per person for a ride to Seward. Otherwise, employees can book transportation from Anchorage to Seward on either Seward Bus Lines or Alaska Railroad.
EMPLOYER PICK-UP: Sometimes employer pick-up doesn’t work out, and employees need to find alternative transport.
